Mahjong

Take a seat with Marcus, Claire and Leo.

Play four-player Mahjong against Marcus, Claire and Leo using simple Playroom rules. Build a winning hand of four groups and a pair. A group can be a three-tile sequence in one suit, three identical tiles, or a declared Kong of four identical tiles.

On your turn, draw and discard a tile. Claim a legal discard with Chi, Peng or Gang, or declare Hu when your hand wins. Use Proceed to advance waiting AI turns. This is table Mahjong, distinct from the solo tile-matching game Mahjong Solitaire.

This version uses a standard four-groups-and-a-pair hand; seven pairs and thirteen orphans do not count as wins. Chi forms a consecutive three-tile sequence in one suit and can claim only the previous player’s discard. Peng uses three identical tiles. Gang is a four-tile group and requires the corresponding legal claim or tiles in your hand.

Double-click a tile to discard it, or select it and choose Discard. The action buttons offer only legal claims. Pass declines the current discard; Proceed advances a waiting turn. Read the controls section below the table for keyboard shortcuts. Look at your existing groups and pair before making a claim: a tempting Peng can make another useful sequence harder to complete. This is casual play against bots, with no wagers or cash prizes.
