Privacy and usage reports

Playroom is an independent puzzle-game project. For questions about this site or its privacy practices, visit Contact and feedback. No email address is requested by our feedback form; it is a one-way message to the site owner, so we cannot reply directly.

No player account is needed. Game progress, recent-game ordering, personal records and sound preferences and optional routine progress are saved in your browser. My Progress needs no account or analytics consent; it stays on this device and is lost if site data is cleared.

Optional usage reporting is off until connected and you choose Allow usage reports. You can decline or change your choice using Usage preferences at the bottom of any game.

When enabled, PostHog receives the game, mode, board size or difficulty, phone-sized or desktop-sized screen, starts, first move, completion, repeat play, active playing seconds and generic script-error counts. On the home page, optional reports also include home views, category choices, game-card clicks and resume clicks. Optional routine reports include starts, stage transitions, pauses, exits, and counts of completed or skipped activities. These contain only the selected game, category or routine-stage metadata, not your saved board. Reports include the current website hostname and page address (origin and path only), so we can understand use of our domains and game pages. Query strings and URL fragments are excluded. Automatic usage reports do not send your answers, individual moves, tile layouts, names, recordings, full URLs or error messages.

When you choose Send feedback, your typed message, selected game, feedback category and phone/desktop category are sent privately to the owner through PostHog in US Cloud. This is separate from optional usage reporting: feedback is sent only at your request, even if you declined analytics. No email or name is requested. A random feedback identifier is used for delivery; your board, answers, saved records and move history are not attached. Unsent drafts stay in the open page and are not uploaded automatically or saved as a backlog.

A random identifier lasts for this page session. A date stored in your browser tells us if a visit is on a later day. This provides aggregate return-visit counts, not a personal cross-device history. Active time stops when the page is hidden or after 60 seconds without interaction.

PostHog receives network requests, including connection information such as your IP address. Geographic enrichment and person-profile creation are disabled. Hosting may separately process operational request information. Browser privacy signals disable optional usage reporting. Blocking or declining reports does not affect play.

Choosing No thanks stops further reports and clears unsent events; it does not erase reports already received. No advertising provider is enabled in the game code.
